What are my career choices if I decide that going to medical school is not what I want to do?
Premedical students are sometimes faced with the difficult decision to pursue an alternative career path for a variety of reasons. Some students feel they might not be a competitive applicant for medical school or they do not want to make the committment to the long hours, the many years in medical school and post-medical school training programs, or face the cost of attending medical school. Most students, however, still desire a rewarding career in a health-related profession and the options are many.

The College of Health Related Professions (CHRP) was established in 1971 as a separate college within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) to serve the State of Arkansas by providing education and research in the allied health professions.
